Oh, And Rummy? The Military's Talking Again
(and Oh, a related update)

...and they don't have a great deal positive to say about how Iraq's been handled.

But, hey, Rummy! Kentucky's Senator Mitch McConnell thinks you're the cat's pajamas, so who cares what actual military commanders who served in the region have to say?

And, oh... the current Army chief of staff needs billions more to continue doing what's already underway.

I still have a suspicion that Iraq is working out EXACTLY the way the people in charge want it to... that a Middle East in chaos is precisely the target, or, rather, the mission that has been so notably accomplished. I can't think of any way this serves U.S. interests, but I'm more than half convinced that 'national interests' have little or nothing to do with this anyway... we're simply loaning out our military to the behind the scenes power cartel that uses our particular government as one of many front operations, entirely for its own benefit.

In the end, it may come down to something as simple as, the gang that runs Our Gang is using our goons & guns to smash a rival gang, so they can consolidate more of the international slave and drug trade to themselves. Horrible though that sounds, I suspect it's really what's going on. Not that we'll ever know for sure, of course.

I suppose the tried and true means is that blend of asking "who is served by this?" and otherwise following the money. We just have to be more creative in our interpretation of "money" as services are sometimes traded. Still, it has to serve someone.
